This fully hallmarked gold keepsake locket was crafted by Matthews & George in the reign of George V. This elaborately engraved portrait locket was assayed* (tested for gold purity*) at Chester Assay Office in 1920. The anterior surface is embellished with an oval cartouche framed by scroll work and acanthus leaves. The posterior surface is also
