For her, art was a means of expressing the inexpressible and in this floral still life, you can see her expressive, almost raw approach at its best. Toorop (1891 1955) was a remarkable figure in the Dutch art world. The daughter of the famous Jan Toorop, she nevertheless developed a voice entirely her own. Throughout her
