Dating these classic garments is difficult, but I am guessing this goes back to the 1950s or 60s. It could be worn for hunting or as a windbreaker or chore jacket. It is simply styled, and staightcut to allow for layering underneath. All seams are flat felled (like classic blue jeans) for sturdiness.
