It is in wonderful vintage condition

The crepe overlay is embellished with thick grosgrain and lace trim on the hem and waistband with appliqué square designs on the skirt in the same fabrics

the monochrome banding is horizontal on the bodice and has a chevron appearance on the skirt element due in part to the mitred seams

There is a belt feature in matching ruched chiffon that secures at the reverse with hook-and-eye fastenings

We have referenced Chanel's 1936 design here. This dress is unlabelled although American made and despite extensive research, I have been unable to ascertain who designed this.
