The cotton yarns are carefully bound and dyed to create the pattern, then hand woven to create a soft fabric. The weavers work under master artisan Bikshapati Kolaan in the village of Yellanki in Andhra Pradesh. The collar has a loop closure allowing it to be worn open or buttoned up.
