The coat was produced in several different fabrications, and this particular version is made up in a lightweight, black cotton shirting. It is cut long and generously, with unusual, narrow lapels, a four button front placket, and a belt which allows the coat to be cinched at the waist. On the outer side of the coat is a vest layer of sorts which has been sewn over the main body of the coat,
