Georgian Ruby Heart Locket Onyx A later version of aA fine Georgian heart shaped 9ct gold locket framed with flat cut garnets in closed back settings. The centre is fitted with a rock crystal compartment, originally intended to hold a lock of hair, miniature, or other keepsake. Hinged on the reverse. This locket is a classic example of sentimental jewellery from the Georgian period. Circa 1780. The locket measures 2cm high excluding the loop by 1. 5cm wide at the widest point.
