the top with a turned finial and appliqued gothic inspired Fleur des lis decoration below and the top is pierced with various cruciform & reticulated openings to allow the sugar to be sifted

Antique Mahogany Carved Chippendale Demi-Lune Queen Anne Game Console Table 1900 Sold As a four-year-oldA very fine quality antique Chippendale style plum mahogany game console table, attributed to Gillows of Lancaster, circa 1910. The table is of demi lune form when closed & opens to form a full circle, the table top having beautiful 'plum pudding' grained mahogany, a highly prized pattern found within certain mahogany wood, particularly Honduran mahogany. This figuring resembles large, swirling drips or blotches in the grain, reminiscent of the fruit
