Sarracenia purpurea ssp venosa is a subspecies of purpurea with a natural range between Florida and New Jersey

In order for the plant to produce high levels of nectar it is recommended to grow it in fairly strong light

It combines the unique growth habit and deep red coloration of Nepenthes ampullaria “William’s Red” with the sinister clawed peristome of Nepenthes hamata

It also grows well in a wide range of conditions from intermediate to highland and even performed well in our lowland house over a few months

These should be stunning as they mature and seem to be easier to grow than villosa or edwardsiana (more like hamata).
