Georgian Giardinetti Ring Iron Circa 1710A bright and sparkly Georgian fine 18ct gold and silver rose cut diamond foil backed giardinetti ring. The foliate band tapering to a ribbed shank that has previously been sized. There are approximately 80 points of diamonds in total. The word "giardinetti" originally comes from the Italian and means a small garden. These rings were idealised versions of vases of flowers and were very popular from the early 18th century.
