17th Century Posy Ring Pearl The head of the ringA tiny and remarkable 17th century fine gold engraved posy ring with very feint traces of green and white enamel, the interior is inscribed "Favor my affection" with a makers mark RW. Posy rings originate from the French word "posy" for a motto and were used extensively from the 16th to 18th centuries as lover's tokens and betrothal or wedding rings. This ring cannot be resized.
