Wade began making pottery as a high school student in small town Iowa. After an Undergraduate degree at U. N. I. he attended Grad school in NW Pennsylvania receiving his M. F. A. in ceramics and printmaking. In 1998 he relocated to the Twin Cities. It was in Saint Paul where Scheel began a career as a studio artist, teacher, gallery owner and an impressive 22
