Palate: The first sip is sweet forward with a slightly chalky oak
The 2004 Pichon Lalande is a strong effort for the vintage (much better than their underwhelming and much more expensive 2005)
Generous blackberry fruit aromas are tinged with wild herbs and heady cedar spices
even though it borders on being slightly too dry
Alovini 'Sterparo' Greco Basilicata IGT - 2022 (750ml) Delivery and very welcome after a100% Greco, which is likely more well known from Campania. Here it is grown in Basilicata and shows a deeper color, medium yellow. The aromas combine earthy stone, aromatic almond and citrus fruit. The palate it richly textured and will match well with the hearty flavors of olives, anchovies, hot peppers and other Mediterranean flavors.
