The compact has chequered checkered engine turned designs on the lid & base. The cartouche is inscribed 'C E W'. This compact is fully hallmarked sterling silver 'B G into an oval', the maker is Bert Gordon. This mid century vanity was assayed at Birmingham in 1946. The mirror is excellent, it gives a clear & accurate reflection. Measures just over 7 x 6. 6 cm.
