Tenuta Cappellina, Casa del Capo, Sangiovese, Italy, 750mL Women-winemaker aged for 12-years in Ex-BourbonThis is declassified Chianti Classico fruit blended with Bordeaux varietals. A little "baby" Super Tuscan that is farmed sustainably without the use of pesticides. It is the grower's curmudgeonly insistence on the ancient practices of viticulture paired with the modern take on blending that cost him his docg stickers. The wine is intense, rich, but supple with well developed tertiary notes of leather, dried rose petals, cherry and bright exotic spices
