The male with two lines upon each cheek symbolizes strength and protection. His cloths carry plant and rain designs. Next to him is a prayer bundle and disc symbolizing the earth, together bringing blessings to all life. The woman carries rain designs upon her cheeks with corn seed symbols woven into her dress or manta. Both designs represent the ability to give life.
