It's set with a natural ruby
and all the stone rest in lovely platinum millegrain
in this instance
with petals and centre visible and from what we can see it was slightly stylised/abstract and must have been incredibly beautiful

The original (currently in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo) was designed to secure the wig of the king during ceremonies and to protect his forehead.
