GIA 1.02ct I-IF Asscher Cut Diamond Emerald and it's wonderfully strangeDATE: Art Deco, c. 1930 The Asscher Cut is one of my favourite; they visually encapsulate the clean lines and geometry of Art Deco design (although were invented around 20 years earlier), while the profile isn't a million miles of a cushion shape old cut. Good ones are difficult to come by (only 2% of diamonds are fashioned as asschers), and this one's really quite special. It's a shade over 1 carat, on a GIA as internally flawless (IF clarity) and I
