Victorian Chinese "Double Happiness" Signet Ring objects Amethyst intaglio in foiled settingDATE: Victorian, c. 1850 An incredible antique signet ring dating from the mid 19th Century. It's Chinese, with the symbol "double happiness" on the head, often used as a symbol of marriage which would, to me, indicate that this was exchanged as a wedding ring. It's crafted in 23 karat gold and, quite unusually, the band is adjustable at the back to accommodate different finger sizes. MEASUREMENTS Head: 1. 2 x 1. 1cm Width of band: 3. 6mm Size:
