It's finished in fine coloured enamel (blue, green, and white) and modelled in 15 karat yellow gold. There's a hinged glass compartment to the back which opens to allow storage of a small memento or keepsake given the Georgians' mourning habits this would likely have been an intricately woven lock of hair.
