Victorian "Brittany Until I Die" Silver Band brooch 3mm diameterDATE: Victorian, c. 1800 A remarkable Victorian silver band with the words "Bretange A Ma Vie", translating to Brittany until I die to my life. The St Malo, Brittany symbol, an ermine is applied along with initials of Anne of Brittany, A. Anne of Brittany (1477 1514), the duchess of Brittany and mother to Claude of France, used it to mark her initials on buildings, documents and belongings. There is a legend about Anne and an ermine that explains her
